FAQ

Where do you ship?

I'm based in the UK. I can ship most places in the world except for warzones and Germany. This shop software does not allow me to exclude specific countries, so if you order to a location where I do not ship, I'll just refund you ASAP, minus any fees beyond my control.

Why don't you ship to Germany?

Germany has some very positive but very onerous rules related to recycling packaging from imported goods which are too much for me to deal with as a one-man band doing this in my spare time. I'm afraid my only option is not to ship there.

What do you use to ship?

I use Royal Mail First Class standard for UK orders. For orders going outside of the UK I use Royal Mail International Standard.

When do I get my stuff?

Assuming the item is available (e.g. not on preorder) when you order it, I will  usually send it within 1-3 working days.  Sometimes this can take a little longer, as I have to fit despatching around work hours, but I will always send as quickly as I can. For items on preorder there will usually be an estimated shipping date given in the item description.

Orders to addresses within the UK will usually arrive within 1-3 working days of sending, but can take longer, so please allow at least 2 weeks before chasing it up. Outside of the UK delivery times will vary. Most international orders should arrive within 8-10 working days of me sending them; please allow up to 6 weeks before chasing though as they can take considerably longer. It's a complicated old world out here these days.

Can you offer tracking?

I don't offer this because the items I'm selling are such low value that it would be massively disproportionately expensive.

What about customs charges, taxes, duties, etc?

Recipients are responsible for any taxes, duties, or customs charges levied by their home country, just like I was when I bought way too many socks from America one time.

I do not charge or collect VAT at the point of purchase. This means I do not use the EU's IOSS system to collect VAT for EU countries at the point of sale. Therefore, if you are outside the UK, there is a chance that you may need to pay additional charges when the order arrives in your country. I understand the value of these orders to be low enough that this will not apply in quite a few cases, but there are too many countries and different thresholds for me to lay out whether this will apply in each case. So I strongly encourage you to check before ordering whether your order is likely to attract additional charges when it arrives in your country, and ensure you are okay with these charges before ordering. I don't refund orders that get returned because of unpaid charges in the recipient's country.

I have to fill in a customs declaration which will be affixed to the packaging, so the value will be known to your country's customs officials. And no, I won't mark the items as a gift to dodge import charges, this is illegal and I don't need that heat. C'mon now!

Just to clarify why I have this policy: this is really a labour of love done on top of my full-time job. This arrangement is the only way I can manage to offer these items for sale--the alternative is so much paperwork I could never justify doing it.
